I'm back

Where have I been?

1) Buying a house.  We moved in last Wednesday.  The house is in SW Austin literally right next to the Wildflower Center and the Veloway.  I was a little hesitant to move to South Austin from NW Austin, but the house is great and we’re starting to settle in nicely.

2) Getting stuff together for law school - I had accepted students day which was fun.  Ran into a girl a year younger than me from high school who I knew so it was nice to have a familiar face.  Financial aid and student loans are the bane of my existence right now - they do not do a good job of explaining it all.

3) Planning a wedding - my intern and good friend June is getting married on Friday and she didn’t do any wedding stuff until about a month ago.  I seem to be honorary wedding planner for all of my friends (many think I should do it as a profession) so I’ve basically been doing a lot of the planning for her and it’s been crazy squeezing it all in.

4) Traveling - I took a week and half trip to the East Coast to Philly, DC, and Baltimore to visit friends and family.  Highlights included steamed crabs (yum!), visiting the National Cathedral, running into a girl I went to high school with in Austin on the train from Philly to DC (It really is a small world!!!!), visiting several yarn stores, and of course enjoying seeing a bunch of people I hadn’t seen since my wedding.

5) Throwing a groundbreaking celebration for the wind farm I’ve been working on for the last two years in Amarillo.  It was on Earth Day - April 22 and was a huge project and went really well so I was very happy about it.

6) Knitting - despite my lack of blogging there was at least a little bit of knitting going on.  I’ve made good progress on my Hanne Falkenberg Mermaid (and my LYS is doing a Hanne Falkenberg trunk show - it is amazing - check it out!!!!).  I also finished my first pair of socks and have started on a second pair in purple Trekking XXL.  The rest of my projects are mostly on hold right now waiting for me to get through the move.

More pics coming soon!
